We made this salve with nursing mothers in mind! It works wonders to protect, soothe, and ease chapped dry nipples due to chafing, breastfeeding, using a breast pump or even just hormonal changes. Ingredients: calendula, marshmallow root, plantain, St. John’s Wort, mago butter, cocoa butter, arrowroot powder, vitamin e oil, extra virgin olive oil, beeswax
Directions: simply apply a thin layer to affected area. Allow to dry and settle into the skin or wipe off excess product before nursing or pumping to avoid issues with latching.
Calendula - both Dr Hale and InfantRisk rate calendula safe for breastfeeding. Calendula is very soothing and healing for irritated nipples. The flower helps regenerate and heal the torn skin tissue. It’s also anti inflammatory and antimicrobial.
